Moving out? To avoid extra charges taken from your security deposit, please make sure you complete the following before you leave. If you don't complete these items, we will hire professionals (like painters or cleaners), and the cost will be much higher than if you did the work yourself.
Important: If the repair/cleaning costs are more than your security deposit, we will send the balance to collections and report it to credit agencies if it's not paid within 30 days.
Checklist of Common Items to Complete:
- Replace any missing lightbulbs.
- Cut the grass within 5 days of moving out.
- Clean the gutters.
- For Carpets: You must have the carpets professionally steam cleaned, just as they were before you moved in. You must provide us with the cleaning receipt when you move out. (Pro tip! email [email protected] with a copy of your carpet cleaning receipt which will be taken into consideration when itemizing move out charges)
- Clean the stove and/or oven.
- Clean and defrost the refrigerator.
- Remove all trash, debris, and unwanted belongings. (Note: We charge about $40 for each full bag of trash/items we have to remove.)
- Mop or vacuum all floors.
- Wipe down all baseboards.
- Clean the patio and/or storage areas.
- Clean the entire kitchen.
- Clean all bathrooms.
- Replace or re-key the lock ($150.00 charge per lock).
- Clean all windows and blinds.
- Fix or pay for any damage to walls or doors.
- Fix or pay for any damage to mini-blinds.
- Fix or replace missing or damaged window or patio screens.
